Hello Dear Friend

Hello, Dear Friend!

One of my favourite card designs is monochromatic so I’m pleased to share another one with you today – Hello, Dear Friend!  This card is using the Life Is Grand cling stamp set.  Because the stamps cling so well to the glass blocks, I was able to place the greeting exactly where I wanted it without the stamp falling off the block – BONUS!!

I’ve used one of the organdy ribbons from the 2019 Sale-A-Bration Event.  This combo pack of 5 different colours was so popular, it was sold out in 8 weeks!!  I’m so glad I was able to get a package and I love how it matches the Botanical Butterfly DSP from the 2019 Sale-A-Bration Event!

Let’s look at the measurements and instructions:

  1. Cut Highland Heather Cardstock at 4-1/4″ x 11” – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Cut Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Attach to card base with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Cut Whisper White Cardstock at 2-3/4″ x 4-1/2″.  Use Highland Heather Classic Ink to stamp greeting from Life is Grand stamp set near the top of the Whisper White Cardstock.  Use the Butterfly Duet Punch to punch out a set of butterflies under the greeting.  (You can save the punched out butterflies for “butterfly confetti” or another project!)
  4. Cut Highland Heather Cardstock at 3″ x 4-5/8″.  Use the 2-1/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the area behind the butterflies punched out of the Whisper White Cardstock so that the DSP will show through.  Tip:  If desired, you can mark where the butterfly sits on the Highland Heather Cardstock to reduce the guessing of where to punch with the circle punch.
  5. Use Liquid Glue on the Highland Heather layer and attach the Whisper White layer with the greeting stamped on it.
  6. Attach the ribbon and faux bow near the top of the greeting layer.
  7. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the assembled greeting layer over the DSP.
  8. Add Rhinestone Basic Jewels as bodies of the butterflies.
  9. Stamp greeting and butterflies on the inside layer with Highland Heather Classic Ink.

These are the products used:

Now let’s look at the inside layer:

Thanks to Kelly Acheson for sharing her design.
