Sailing Home – Let Hope Be Your Anchor

When you decide to use “Sailing Home – Let Hope Be Your Anchor” you know the result will turn out to be amazing!!

This beautiful set of 12 cling stamps & dies on page 11 of the Annual catalogue features gorgeous designs perfect for masculine projects, graduation projects and all encouragement projects!

This is a card that we were priveledged to make while attending OnStage in Vancouver in April.  We used almost all of the stamps and dies in the bundle as well as a number of pieces of the coordinating Designer Series Paper.  A watercolour background is perfect for the lighthouse scene and the “rope” cut with the die adds a special touch.

Look Who’s Turning 5

Look Who’s Turning 5

Do you remember how excited you were when you were turning 5 years old??  I must admit that I can’t remember turning 5 but after watching our Granddaughter a few weeks ago when it was her turn to “not be 4 any more!”, I’m sure I was VERY excited just like she was!!

My hubby and I have a tradition of taking each Grandchild, by themselves, on a shopping trip to pick out their gift from us and lunch at the restaurant of their choice.  We start when they turn 5 so this year was extra special for our Granddaughter – she had been counting the days for almost a year because she has 2 olders brothers and she’s watched them go with us for their “Special Day” for as long as she can remember!  This is the card we gave her at the family birthday party.  Our message inside reminded her that she would be getting her very own “Special Day” as soon as we could schedule it with her parents!!

Now let’s see how to make it!

Card base is Gorgeous Grape cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ – use the bone folder to create a sharp fold

1st layer is Blushing Bride cut at 5-1/4″ x 4″ – use Snail Adhesive to attach to the card base

2nd layer is Whisper White cut at 5″ x 3-3/4″ – stamp the greeting from Number of Years in Memento Black Ink – make sure to leave enough space for the balloons and the number

Stamp the balloon outlines and the balloons with Classic Ink – punch out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch – attach some with Snail Adhesive and some with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Use the Big Shot with the appropriate Large Number Die to cut out the number from Gold Glimmer Paper – use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach it over the balloons

Even though some of these products are retired, I’m sure you can find them for sale somewhere!  Sorry, I’m keeping mine for a while because it makes special cards with a minimum amount of effort!!
