Smile When Bella Brings Wishes

Smile When Bella Brings Wishes

No matter how a card like this arrives, I smile when Bella brings wishes and I’m sure you would, too!  Using punches and Designer Series Paper for the background, I found this card was easy to put together.  I used the Real Red Stampin’ Blend to add a little pop of colour and decided to leave Bella au naturelle!

Detailed instructions with measurements are here:

  1. Cut Gorgeous Grape Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Cut Brights DSP (Gorgeous Grape) at 5-1/4″ x 4″.  Attach to the card base with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Cut 3 Gorgeous Grape Cardstock circles with the Starburst Punch.  Attach to the DSP layer with Snail Adhesive.
  4. Use Memento Black Ink to stamp the “Bella” images on scraps of Whisper White Cardstock.  Punch out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the completed “Bella” layer over the DSP layer.
  5. Use Real Red Blend to colour the collar and hearts on “Bella”.
  6. Use Memento Black Ink to stamp the greeting on a small strip of Whisper White Cardstock.  Use Snail Adhesive to attach between the “Bella” circles.
  7. Use Memento Black Ink to stamp “Enjoy” on a scrap of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock.  Punch out with the small Balloon Punch.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach above the balloon string on the Bella image.

This is a design that can easily be adapted to any colour.  During our monthly card class, the ladies were given a choice of colours – these are their creations (as well as another Gorgeous Grape sample that I made) – aren’t they so cute?

Simply Thankful for All The Good Things Using Brusho

Today I’m sharing this Simply Thankful for All Good Things using Brusho crystals for the background layer.  Brusho crystal colour comes with five (5) different colours in each box.  The colours included are Brilliant Red, Gamboge (orange), Moss Green, Prussian Blue, and Yellow.  Each little pot contains 0.5 oz. which doesn’t sound like a lot but believe me when I say they will last you for a long, long time!  The Watercolour ink crystals—mix with water to make watercolour washes and designs.  All you need to do is sprinkle the crystals directly on water-washed paper and watch the colours burst.  Every project will be different – you will never get the same colour or design twice!

Detailed instructions with measurements are here:

  1. Cut Mossy Meadow Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Use the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to texturize the front of the card base.
  3. Cut Thick Whisper White Cardstock at 5-1/4″ x 4″.
  4. Sprinkle desired colour and amount of the Brusho Crystals over the Thick Whisper White Cardstock.
  5. Use a Stampin’ Spritzer with water to spray the Brusho Crystals – watch the colour pop!  The cardstock will curl as it dries so you will need to make sure you have applied Snail Adhesive right out to the edge of the cardstock before attaching it to the card base.  You can use the heat tool to assist with the drying time.  It will work better if you heat it from the back.
  6. Once the coloured background has dried, stamp the greeting with Versamark.  Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder over the greeting.  Melt the Gold Embossing Powder with the Heat Tool.
  7. Use a strong adhesive to attach the Brusho layer to the card base.

Here are some of the other colours that resulted from my card making venture!  As you can see, some are similar but none are identical!!
