Elfie Christmas Card

Elfie Christmas Card

Check out my Elfie Christmas Card!  Today I’m sharing my first, but certainly not my last, card sample made using the new #Elfie Stamp Set, designed by Karen Duke!  This set was designed by my good friend, and amazing upline, Karen Duke!!  It’s her “Million Dollar” set and is featured in the 2019 Holiday Catalogue (page 22).  You can get this set for your collection here.  If you already have this set, I’d love to see samples of what you’ve made with it – please share!

The format for this card is different from the usual cards I like to make.  It did have quite a few more steps but I’m pleased with the end result.  One of the best ever things about Stampin’ Up! is how the colours coordinate – cardstock, ink, ribbon, Stampin’ Blends – it they are called “Cherry Cobbler” you know they will match perfectly!!

Here a look at some of the preparation steps:

Elfie is all coloured!

Lots and lots of Elfie’s ready for the next step!

These are the steps I used to make this card:

  1. Cut Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 10-1/2” – Score at 3-1/2″ from both ends.
  2. Fold in from each end to create a “Triple Fold” card.
  3. Use Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink to stamp a snowflake border on the front section.
  4. Wrap a 12″ (approx.) piece of Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8″ Striped Ribbon having the ends overlap on the front. Attach with a glue dot.
  5. Use the Big Shot with Stitched Nested Label Dies to create a border out of Gold Foil. Use 2 dies so the piece cut out of the center can be saved for another project. Use Liquid Glue to attach over the ribbon.
  6. Stamp “Elfie with the Ornament standing on the Gift” using Tuxedo Memento Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.  Use the Big Shot with Stitched Nested Label Dies to cut out the image.
  7. Colour as desired using Stampin’ Blends.
  8. Use Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the pom-pom on his hat.
  9. Highlight the coat and hat accents with Wink of Stella.
  10. Cut 2 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock at 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″.
  11. Use the Stamparatus and Tuxedo Memento Ink to stamp the greeting and gift on 1 piece for each card.  Colour as desired using Stampin’ Blends.
  12. Use the Stamparatus and Tuxedo Memento Ink to stamp the gift on the 2nd piece for each card.  Colour as desired using Stampin’ Blends.
  13. Use Snail Adhesive to attach to the centre and 1st flap of the “Triple Fold” card base as shown in the sample.

To A Wild Rose Fancy Fold

To A Wild Rose Fancy Fold

Seeing as my project for the week is the “To A Wild Rose” stamp set, I’ve been searching for new ideas!  Imagine my surprize when I discovered the set has coordinating dies!!  Yes, I must have known this earlier in the year because I purchased the stamp set and the dies together, as a bundle, with a 10% discount!!  I guess it was one of those days – just forgot about the dies!!
