Unique Design for a Card

Unique Design for a Card

This unique design for a card was shared by my fellow demonstrator, Lillian Kemp.  I want to thank her for sharing the details so that I could CASE this card for the ladies who attended my class.  I love how the Country Floral Embossing Folder added just enough texture to the background for the greeting to stand out.  And the pearlized DSP adds just enough shine & glimmer to the card front.

Let’s take a look at how to make a card like this:

  1. Cut Crumb Cake Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4”.  Cut Crumb Cake Cardstock at 8-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ – score and fold at 4-1/4″.  Use Snail Adhesive to attach the right-hand side to the bottom of the 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4” Crumb Cake Cardstock.
  2. Cut Whisper White Cardstock at 5-1/4″ x 4″.  Use Big Shot and Country Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder to add a design to the top 2-1/2″.  Stamp a leaf image from the Painted Seasons Stamp Set near the bottom of this layer.  Use Liquid Multipurpose Glue to adhere to the Crumb Cake Cardstock.
  3. Cut Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 3″.  Use Snail Adhesive to attach to the front of the card.
  4. Use Old Olive Classic Ink to stamp greeting from Strong & Beautiful Stamp Set on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  Use Big Shot and Stitched Circle Framelit to cut out the greeting.  Use Snail Adhesive to attach to an Old Olive Colored Doily.  Use the 2″ Circle Punch to punch out a Whisper White circle to put on the back of the doily so the glue doesn’t stick to the embossed white layer.
  5. Use Glue Dots to attach 2 pieces of ribbon near the top of the DSP layer.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the completed doily layer over the ribbon – remember to use the dimensionals on the bottom of the doily ONLY!

Just a Note from a Rooster

Just a Note from a Rooster

I’m sure there are lots of people on your “friends list” who would love to get Just a Note from a Rooster!  Isn’t he just the cutest rooster you’ve ever seen?  The Home to Roost stamp set is another one that is available for FREE during the 2019 Sale-A-Bration season.  I was excited to share this design with the ladies who recently attended my “Black & White Card Class”.  Some decided to colour the entire rooster while I was happy to only add a bit of Real Red that you see in this photo.

Here are the measurements & Instructions:

  1. Cut Whisper White Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Cut Basic Black Cardstock at 3″ x 4″.  Use Big Shot and Tin Tile Embossing Folder to add a design.
  3. Cut Botanical Butterfly DSP at 2-1/4″ x 4″.  Attach to the bottom of the embossed black piece with a small piece of tape.  Wrap the front of the seam with Black Satin Ribbon.  Attach the completed layer to the card base with Snail Adhesive.
  4. Cut Silver Foil Cardstock with Scallop Oval Framelit and the Big Shot.
  5. Stamp the rooster on Whisper White Cardstock.  Cut the image out with the Oval Framelit and the Big Shot.  Use Snail Adhesive to attach over the Silver Foil Oval.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach to the front of the card.
  6. Use Black Memento Ink to stamp the greeting on a piece of 1/2″ x 3″ Whisper White Cardstock.  Snip to the required length with Paper Snips.  Use Mini Dimensionals to attach to the card front.

Here is a similar card – this one has the silver & rooster oval placed near the edge of the card base.

Let me know which one you like the best.
