Dandelion Wishes Embossed in White

Dandelion Wishes Embossed in White

This is a technique that I love using!  I’m not sure what this technique is called but I really like how it highlights an area of the card front without using a lot of extra cardstock.  The image to highlight is cut out of the background layer, attached to a different colour and reattached over the cut-out area – easy peasy!

Measurements and Instructions:

  1. Cut Whisper White Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Cut Basic Black Cardstock at 5-1/4″ x 4″.  Wipe with the Embossing Buddy.  Use Versamark Ink to stamp dandelions, fluff and greeting. NOTE: Using the Stamparatus to line the images up allows you to get the placement correct before actual stamping.  Sprinkle White Stampin’ Embossing Powder over the Versamark Ink image.  Melt with the Heat Tool.
  3. Use the Big Shot with a plain Square Framelit to cut out the greeting and some of the dandelions.  Use Snail Adhesive to attach the cut-out square to a Scallop Square that has been cut out of Whisper White Cardstock with the Big Shot and the Square Scallop Framelit. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount this completed square over the opening in the Basic Black layer.
  4. Embellish with Clear Faceted Gems.

Beautiful You

Beautiful You

The Beautiful You stamp set allows us to make beautiful cards for the ladies in our lives.  For this birthday card, I stamped the same silhouette image on a piece of polka dot paper from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  It didn’t take long to cut out the dress and the hat with my Paper Snips and glue them over the image stamped on the front layer.

Measurements and Instructions:

  1. Cut Whisper White Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Cut Basic Black Cardstock at 5-1/4″ x 4″.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach to the card base.
  3. Cut Whisper White Cardstock at 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″.  Place in the Stamparatus and place the lady stamp and the greeting stamp where desired.  Use Memento Black Ink to stamp both of the images at the same time.  Note:  This is a great way to make a number of cards in a short time!
  4. Use Memento Black Ink to stamp the lady image on a Black & White side of Botanical Butterfly DSP.  Use Paper Snips to cut out the dress and the hat.  Use Liquid Multipurpose Glue to attach to the image on the Whisper White layer.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach to the Basic Black layer.
  5. Make a small bow with the Black/Silver Striped Ribbon.  Attach with a Glue Dot.
