Today, the Designer Series Paper (DSP) does most of the work on this Bumblebee Birthday Card! By having DSP, Ribbon, Ink, and Embellishments all in the same colour, I find it easy to create this “Wishing you the happiest of birthdays” card for my stash!
Let’s start with…
The Bumblebee Cardstock (#153077) is cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″, folded and burnished with a bone folder. The Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper (#154297) was cut at 5-1/4″ x 3″. I used the Curvy Dies (#154319) and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (#149653) to “split” the DSP and make room for to stamp the flexible greeting from the Quite Curvy stamp set (#154430).
Now for the Designer Series Paper…
Next, I cut Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) at 5-1/4″ x 4″ and layered the die-cut DSP over it to determine where the greeting would be stamped. I didn’t adhere the DSP with an adhesive until the greeting was stamped with Bumblebee Classic Ink (#153116) – (just in case I had to turn the Whisper White layer over 😉) Once I arranged and stamped the words in a pattern I liked, I attached the DSP with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Note: Use liquid glue gives me a little more “wiggle” room for exact placement.
Now for some embellishments…
A length of Bumblebee Ribbon (#153622) (approx. 10″) was attached to the back of the Whisper White/DSP layer with Mini Glue Dots. A smaller piece of ribbon was used to tie a “Faux” bow. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I attached this completed layer to the card base. And, last but definitely not least, I attached 2 coordinating In Color Enamel Dots (#152480).
