It’s never easy to send a Sympathy card but I think it’s so important to have some of these cards made and ready to send when you need them! This Corner Bouquet Sympathy card uses 2 of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets that you can earn in January and February 2021!!
When I saw this card posted, I knew it would be a beautiful card to share on my weekly FaceBook Live. I want to thank France Martin of Frenchie Stamps for sharing it.
Gather your cardstock
To begin with, I gathered the same colours of cardstock used by Frenchie Stamps – Crumb Cake Cardstock (#120953), Early Espresso Cardstock (#119686), Soft Suede Cardstock (#115318), Very Vanilla Cardstock (#101650).
As I was gathering these, I realized that there are many other colours (reds, pinks, blues, greens, purples) that could be combined to create a card with these layers and they would all work beautifully. I think what I like best is the coordination of the neutral shades with Antiqued Corners & Slides Elements.
To begin with, the Crumb Cake Cardstock was cut @ 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″, folded, and burnished to make the card base. The gorgeous Faux Suede Trim (#152472) was threaded through a Slide from the Antiqued Corners & Slides Elements (#152471) before the length was attached along the left side on the front layer of the card base.
The Early Espresso Cardstock layer was cut @ 5″ x 3-5/8″ followed by the Soft Suede Cardstock being cut with the 2nd largest Stitched Rectangle Die (#151820) and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (#149653). If you don’t have these tools, you can use a piece cut @ 5″ x 3-1/2″.
The Very Vanilla Cardstock was cut with the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle Die and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. If you don’t have these tools, you can use a piece cut @ 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. I also used a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock cut @ 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the inside layer.
Let’s do some stamping
Now that all the cardstock has been cut to size, it’s time to do some stamping! The Blending Brushes (#153611) were used to colour the smaller piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Crumb Cake Classic Ink (#147116) was used on the top half and Soft Suede Classic Ink (#147115) was used on the bottom half. I suggest you start by adding ink lightly because you can always add more colour if you want to have a darker finished project.
For the images, I used the largest corner stamp from the Corner Bouquet Stamp Set (#155273) to place an image in the bottom left-hand corner with Early Espresso Classic Ink (#147114). I also used that ink to stamp the greeting from the Heal Your Heart Stamp Set (#155291) in the top right-hand corner.
Put it all together
After the stamping was completed, I attached the layers to the card base. The final step was to use Mini Glue Dots to attach the Antiqued Corners on each corner of the Very Vanilla layer.
