Gatefold Card with Poppy DSP

Now that I have more time at home because of COVID-19, I’m spending lots of time at my craft table. I love making cards that require a few more cuts and folds like you see in the Gatefold Card made with Poppy DSP!

Okay – let’s get to work, cut your paper & make this card!

  • Card Base:
Cut Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2”
Score at 2-3/4″ and at 8-1/4″
Fold and burnish on both score lines.
  • “Gates”:
    Basic Black Cardstock:
    cut 2 at 5-1/8″ x 1-7/8″
    Whisper White Cardstock:
    cut 2 at 5″ x 1-3/4″
    Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper:
    cut 2 at 4-7/8″ x 1-5/8″
  • Use Snail Adhesive to attach the DSP to the Whisper White layer.
  • Use Snail Adhesive to attach the Whisper White layer to the Basic Black layer.
  • Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach the completed “Gate” layers to the card base.
Make sure to only apply the glue to the right side or the left side, not the entire layer.
Tip: Using liquid glue will allow a bit of “wiggle” room so you can place the layers easier.
  • Use Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink to stamp the greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock. Use the Big Shot and a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out the greeting. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach to the bottom “Gate”.
  • Use the Big Shot and dies from the Poppy Moments Dies to cut an outline Poppy layer from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, a solid Poppy layer and 1/2 centerpiece from Black Foil Cardstock.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach these pieces together.
Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach near the end of the greeting layer.
  • Inside layer:
    Basic Black Cardstock:
    cut 1 at 5-1/4″ x 4″
Use Snail Adhesive to attach to the inside of the card base.
    Whisper White Cardstock:
    cut 1 at 5″ x 3-3/4″
Use Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink to stamp the greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
    Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper:
    cut 1 at 3-3/4″ x 1-1/2″
Use Snail Adhesive to attach DSP to the Whisper White Cardstock. If need be, trim any area that hangs over the edge.
Use Snail Adhesive to attach the completed Whisper White layer to the Basic Black layer.
Use Snail Adhesive to attach to the inside of the card.

These pictures give you a look at the finished gates and the inside layer.
