Happy Easter with Die Cuts

Happy Easter

When the Hydrangea Bundle arrived in the January – June Mini Catalogue, I knew it was going to be a hit with everyone so I’m pleased to use it for Happy Easter with Die Cuts! For this card, I used Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Designer Acetate (154574) cut @ 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the background. The Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper (154570) (DSP) also incorporated Highland Heather and Misty Moonlight for a muted layer.

Getting started…

For the card base, Basic White Cardstock (159276) cut at 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored @ 5-1/2″, folded and burnished with a Bone Folder. Usually, I suggest getting all the layers stamped and ready before starting to assemble the card. This time is no different. But, before attaching the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Designer Acetate layer to the card base, it is best to create the layer that goes OVER the acetate. So, in this case, the card is not assembled from the bottom up!

Cut Highland Heather Cardstock (146986) at 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. Use the Word Wishes Dies (149629) and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut the greeting from Highland Heather Cardstock. A suggestion for saving cardstock is to cut these words from this layer before attaching the DSP. Cut Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper (154570) at 4-1/4″ x 3″ and then attach it to the Highland Heather Cardstock. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach to the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Designer Acetate layer.

NOTE: There is a protective coating on the back (silver) of the Acetate layer that should be removed before using it. This can take a little extra time but it’s very important to do this step! Also know that the “silver” side can be used if you want to.

Assembly goes quickly…

To attach the assembled acetate layer to the front of the card base, apply adhesive behind the cardstock layer ONLY. This will ensure that no adhesive is peeking through the acetate.

Use the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (151690) and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653) to create a background layer for the greeting. Apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the die-cut words and attach them to this layer. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach over the DSP layer. Embellish with Gorgeous Grape 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon (154572) and Pastel Pearls (154571)
