Hydrangea Hill DSP

Hydrangea Hill Birthday Card

Get some gorgeous Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper and it’s all you need! When the DSP has a directional pattern, you will have to decide whether you will create a landscape or portrait layout before you start to cut. For this card, I decided to use the portrait option. The pattern was near the bottom of the layer so there was enough “blank” space near the top to add the greeting.

Hydrangea Hill DSP Card

Let’s start with cutting the paper…

When I design a card using DSP, I always refer to the coordinating cardstock listed on the back of the package. For this one, I chose:

  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock (#153081)
    • 1 @ 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″; score @ 4-1/2″
  • Seaside Spray Cardstock (#150883)
    • 1 @ 3-1/2” x 4-3/4″
  • Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper (DSP) (#154570)
    • 1 @ 4-1/4” x 3”
    • 1 @ 6″ x 2-1/2″ – envelope flap
  • Basic White Cardstock #159276
    • 1 @ 5-1/4″ x 4″ – inside layer

Ready to assemble…

Start with folding the Misty Moonlight Cardstock to create the card base – burnish with a bone folder

If you still have an Embossing Buddy that has been retired by Stampin’ Up!, I suggest using it to wipe across the DSP where the greeting will be stamped.

Use Versa Mark Ink Pad (#102283) to stamp the greeting from Happy Thoughts Stamp Set (#154507) on the DSP, sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder (#109129), melt the Gold Embossing Powder with Heat Tool (#129053)

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the DSP to Seaside Spray Cardstock

Tie a loose knot in Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon (#154569), wrap around the DSP layer attaching to the back of the Seaside Spray Cardstock with Mini Glue Dots, attach this layer to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals

I stamped the greeting for the inside of the card with Misty Moonlight Classic Ink (#153118) on the Basic White Cardstock, use Stampin’ Seal to attach inside of card base
