May Your Days Be Merry…

May your days be merry

Thanks to Lillian Kemp for sharing her design for this “May Your Days Be Merry” card. A few layers need to be cut and stamped before they can be assembled so let me explain how it all comes together!

To begin with….

The card base was cut at 11″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″, folded and burnished with the bone folder. Another piece of Basic Black Cardstock (#121045) was cut at 5-1/4″ x 4″ so the stars could be stamped with VersaMark (#102283) ink and sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder (#109129). Of course, the Heat Tool (#129053) is needed next to melt the embossing powder.

Note: When using the Heat Tool, I’ve found it best to hold it in one place until you see the magic melting happening, then move it over the powder until it is totally melted!

On to the other layers….

The Smoky Slate Cardstock (#131202) was cut at 4″ x 1-3/4″. The Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) was also cut at 4″ x 1-3/4″. This is what worked for our card. As always, if you want these layers to be wider, you can certainly cut them larger than 1-3/4″! The Curvy Dies (#154319) & the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (#149653) made it so easy to add a fancy edge to both pieces of cardstock.

Note: When using the Curvy Dies, determine where you want the design and the cut edge to be. When you look at the Curvy Die with the tiny holes, you’ll notice that there are 2 curves. One curve goes up and one curve goes down so you can cut/place them where ever you want them!

Now we are ready to stamp on each one. Use VersaMark (#102283) ink to stamp the star swirl image on the Smoky Slate Cardstock close to the cut edge. Before the ink dried, it was sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder (#109129) and the Heat Tool (#129053) was used again to melt the embossing powder. On the Whisper White Cardstock layer, the “May your days be merry and bright” greeting from the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set (#155364) was stamped in Memento Black (#132708) near the edge cut with the Curvy Dies.

The last layer needed was the Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper (#155969) cut at 4″ x 1-3/4″ – just like the other two were.

Note: Quite Curvy Bundle (#158396) is the only place that the Curvy Christmas Stamp set and the Classic Christmas DSP are available.

Assembly is done in stages….

Arrange the Smoky Slate, Whisper White, and Classic Christmas DSP layers onto the 5-1/4″ x 4″ Basic Black layer – attach with adhesive of your choice (I prefer Multipurpose Liquid Glue). Wrap a length of the Gold Thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack (#152475) around the top of the DSP, attach at the back, tie a bow with another length, and with a glue dot. This completed layer is now ready to be attached to the card base. Use the adhesive of your choice. Embellish with Wonderful Gems (#153536).

The Quite Curvy Bundle (#158396) has so many great images and greetings like this one and this one.

Now it’s your turn – make 1 or 2 of these – share them / send them!
