Mini 2020 – Timeless Tropical with Dies

Mini 2020 – Timeless Tropical with Dies

This tropical flower card reminds me that spring is on it’s way!  I’m so glad because I feel that this winter has been too long so I’ll welcome any sign of spring!  The subtle background was created by using the coordinating classic ink to stamp on the cardstock.  Another option is to use Designer Series Paper that is part of this Suite.

Mini 2020 – Painted Poppies with Vellum

Painted Poppies with Vellum

Here’s another awesome bundle in the 2020 January to June Mini Catalogue!  Actually you’ll find two, yes TWO, awesome bundles on pages 26 & 27 of the catalogue – Painted Poppies Bundle and the Peaceful Moments Bundle!   They have beautiful line-art images accented by watercolour effects, all inspired by a field of poppies.  I’m so grateful to fellow demonstrator, Lillian Kemp of Stamper’s Niche, for sharing her sample card with me so I could recreate it for our monthly card class!

If you look closely at those pages you’ll see four additional products that coordinate with the two bundles.  There are sequins, ribbon, accent elements and coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) has handpainted blooms and watercolour washes make beautiful backgrounds or focal points – package includes 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs – 12” x 12” (30.5 x 30.5 cm). Acid free, lignin free.  The coordinating colours are Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.

  2. Use Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink to stamp a greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set near the bottom right-hand corner.
  3. Cut Blackberry Bliss Cardstock at 3″ x 4″.  Use Snail Adhesive to attach to the card base.
  4. Cut Peaceful Poppies DSP at 2-7/8″ x 3-7/8″.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach to the Blackberry Bliss Cardstock.
    1. Tip: Using liquid glue will allow you some time to “wiggle” the DSP if need be because the layers are cut only 1/8″ different.
  5. Cut Mossy Meadow Cardstock with the leaf dies and the Big Shot.  Attach over the DSP using Liquid Glue.
  6. Use the Poppies Moments Dies for the two different sized poppies and the Big Shot to cut out 2 vellum shapes.  Using the poppy outline dies and the Big Shot to cut out an outline layer from Blackberry Bliss.  Use liquid glue to attach over the vellum shapes.
  7. Attach completed poppies over the ends of the leaves.
  8. Cut the centres for the poppies from Black Foil Sheets using the dies and the Big Shot.  Attach to the poppies with Liquid Glue.
  9. Embellish with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
