So Many Stars for Christmas

So Many Stars for Christmas

Today I’m sharing this spectacular bundle to show you how to have So Many Stars for Christmas!  You can save 10% when you buy the bundle – you can make many beautiful “non-Christmas” cards with the stamps & dies as well!  Anyone would love to receive a birthday card covered in stars – even if they aren’t made of sparkling cardstock.

Here’s what you’ll need to make a card of your own!

You can click on the image or the description to get all that you need!

Here’s how to make it and the dimensions used:

  1. Cut Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2 – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Cut Silver Glimmer Paper at 5-1/4″ x 4″.  Use the Big Shot and the Swirly Star Die from Stitched Stars Dies to cut the star design for the front from the Silver Glimmer Paper before adhering it to the card base with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Cut Night of Navy Cardstock at 5″ x 3-3/4″.  Use the Big Shot and the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder to add some dimension to this layer.
  4. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach over the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Some other adhesives will not stick to glimmer paper.
  5. Use Night of Navy Classic Ink to stamp the greeting from the So Many Stars stamp set on the Whisper White Cardstock.  Having the greeting near the bottom of the shape, use the Big Shot and a die from Stitched Nested Labels Dies to cut out the greeting layer.  Attach over the Night of Navy layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the star section of the glimmer paper cut out so that the only portion adhered is over the greeting layer. Let the ends of the scrolls hang loosely over the edge.
  7. When using this die, you will end up with lots of little stars.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach them as desired.
  8. Use Night of Navy Classic Ink to stamp the desired greeting on the inside of the card base.

Look Who’s Turning 5

Look Who’s Turning 5

Do you remember how excited you were when you were turning 5 years old??  I must admit that I can’t remember turning 5 but after watching our Granddaughter a few weeks ago when it was her turn to “not be 4 any more!”, I’m sure I was VERY excited just like she was!!

My hubby and I have a tradition of taking each Grandchild, by themselves, on a shopping trip to pick out their gift from us and lunch at the restaurant of their choice.  We start when they turn 5 so this year was extra special for our Granddaughter – she had been counting the days for almost a year because she has 2 olders brothers and she’s watched them go with us for their “Special Day” for as long as she can remember!  This is the card we gave her at the family birthday party.  Our message inside reminded her that she would be getting her very own “Special Day” as soon as we could schedule it with her parents!!

Now let’s see how to make it!

Card base is Gorgeous Grape cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ – use the bone folder to create a sharp fold

1st layer is Blushing Bride cut at 5-1/4″ x 4″ – use Snail Adhesive to attach to the card base

2nd layer is Whisper White cut at 5″ x 3-3/4″ – stamp the greeting from Number of Years in Memento Black Ink – make sure to leave enough space for the balloons and the number

Stamp the balloon outlines and the balloons with Classic Ink – punch out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch – attach some with Snail Adhesive and some with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Use the Big Shot with the appropriate Large Number Die to cut out the number from Gold Glimmer Paper – use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach it over the balloons

Even though some of these products are retired, I’m sure you can find them for sale somewhere!  Sorry, I’m keeping mine for a while because it makes special cards with a minimum amount of effort!!

Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper

Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper

This card shows how Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper matches this sample from the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (too bad supplies of this DSP have run out!).  Almost all Stampin’ Up! DSP is double-sided so, as you can see here, all you need to do is cut the DSP layer in half (almost) and flip the paper over!  Both sides will match for a beautifully coordinating card because all the paper in a package is made to go together.  The Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper will be retired at the end of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue so if you think you’d like to get some, don’t delay!!

  1. Cut Tranquil Tide Cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” – Fold in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
  2. Cut Joyous Noel DSP at 5-1/4″ x 4″.
    1. Use the Paper Trimmer to cut at 3″.
    2. Turn over 1 piece.
    3. Attach both pieces to the card base with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Cut Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper at 4″ x 1/2″.
    1. Attach over the seam with Snail Adhesive.
  4. Use Tranquil Tide Classic Ink and Merry Merlot Classic Ink to stamp the greeting on Whisper White Cardstock.
    1. Use the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to punch it out.
    2. Attach to the Glimmer Circle with Dimensionals.
  5. Use the 2″ Circle Punch to punch out a Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper circle.
  6. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach over the Glimmer strip.
