Sparkling paper in various colours to add glitz to your projects.

Embossed Snowflake Background

I love how punches make it easy to embellish with gold glimmer paper and gold foil paper. As always, Real Red card stock with Gold Foil and Gold Glimmer Paper make elegant Christmas cards! When I designed this card, I added a Very Vanilla embossed layer as a background for the “Gold” trees!

I chose Real Red card stock for the card base of this card because I really like how well it coordinates with Gold and Very Vanilla card stock. To start with, I cut the Real Red card stock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, folded on the score line at 4-1/4″, and burnished with a bone folder.

Next, I cut Very Vanilla card stock at 5-1/4″ x 4″, cut out a large Scallop Circle with a die, and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Don’t put the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine away because you’ll need it to emboss this layer with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder now! With the design finished, I can now use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach it to the card base.

Now it was time to get the greeting ready by stamping the greeting in Real Red Classic Ink on a small piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Cutting it out with a Stitched Rectangle Die and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine ensures that it will layer easily over the next largest rectangle of Gold Foil that’s been cut out with a Stitched Rectangle Die and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I decided to use Stampin’ Seal to attach these layers to each other followed by using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach it to the card base below the Scallop Circle.

To add some shiny embellishment, I used the Pine Tree Punch to create 2 Gold Foil trees and 1 Gold Glimmer tree. To make 1 Gold Foil tree smaller, punch it a second time by holding it with a “Post-It” Note so you can punch off the bottom branches and the tree trunk. It was best to use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the Gold Foil trees on the card front and use Stampin’ Seal to attach the Gold Glimmer tree.

The final crowning touch was to tie a bow with Real Red Double Stitched Satin Ribbon and attach it with a Mini Glue Dot.

Star “Tall” Card

Thanks to Lillian Kemp for sharing this Star “Tall” Card design in a recent Facebook Live! These “tall” cards are very popular so I decided to give it a try and I’m very pleased with the results! I love how Balmy Blue card stock and Silver Glimmer Paper go so well together and make a perfect Christmas card!

Tall Star Card

The card is quite easy to make. I started by cutting Balmy Blue card stock at 8-1/2” x 7″ followed by scoring on the 7″ side @ 3-1/2”. As always, it was folded and burnished with the Bone Folder. The large star was cut from Balmy Blue card stock with the Stitched Stars Dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

I always like to have all the pieces cut before starting to assemble a card so the next step was to cut 2 pieces of Whisper White card stock at 8″ x 3″. One will be for the card front and one for the inside layer.

The greeting from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a piece of Feels Like Frost DSP that was cut at 6″ x 2-3/4″. I attached it to the Whisper White front layer card stock followed by attaching a length of Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon near the bottom 1/3 of the completed Whisper White layer.

The 3″ x 1/4″ piece of DSP was used to embellish the inside Whisper White layer. The sparkling stars we cut from the Silver Glimmer Paper which has been retired by Stampin’ Up! but I’m lucky to still have some in my stash!

After this, all that was left was to make or buy an envelope to fit this beautiful creation! Either way, whoever receives this card will be delighted!!

Now it’s your turn – make 1 or 2 of these – share them / send them!
