Cardstock, Vellum, Thick Cardstock
Today’s card, Dragonfly Garden, is one that we made during my “Stamping With Friends” Zoom class. Everyone is welcome to join us for this fun stamping time! We use our own supplies to follow the design of the sample we get via email the day before the class. Because we join the Zoom Meeting, we can all assist with the instructions, ask & reply to questions and add suggestions!
Now you can see why we LOVE this weekly event, right? If you’d like to come along and create with us, just send me an email to let me know.
To start with…..
I picked the Dragonfly Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) (#154297) to use and, as always, Stampin’ Up! indicated, on the back of the packaging, what colours are used in the DSP.
Next was the coordination….
Then it was easy to choose card stock that would match the DSP! The chosen design of the DSP was cut at 5-1/2″ x 1-1/2″. This time my choice was Calypso Coral card stock (#122925). For the card base, I cut 1 @ 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored @ 4-1/4″, folded on the scoreline, and burnished with the bone folder. For the Calypso Coral layer behind the DSP, I cut 1 @ 5-1/2″ x 1-3/4″.
Now it was on to the Basic Black card stock (#121045). We needed to cut 1 @ 5-1/2″ x 2″ for the layer behind the DSP and Calypso Coral layer and cut 1 @ 3-3/4″ x 2-3/8″ for the layer behind the stamped focal point.
Basic White card stock (#159276) was cut @ 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the inside layer as well as 1 was cut at 3-5/8″ x 2-1/4″ to stamp on for the focal point. If you have the Stitched Rectangle Dies (#151820), you can use the 4th smallest die to get the same finished size for the focal point layer.
Now it’s time to stamp a little….
The Dragonfly Garden stamp set (#154411) has a number of choices for images so for this card, I chose the tall stand of daisies & stamped them with Memento Black Ink (#132708). They really didn’t need to be coloured but I decided to add Calypso Coral to the daisies with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (#154881). Shimmery Crystal Effects (#150892) was added to the top of the flowers gives them a bit of shine! The cluster of tiny dragonflies was stamped using the 2nd edition of Calypso Coral Classic Ink (#147101) to fill in the empty areas and create a coordinating background.
